🐞Ladybug Fun Fact

Did you know? Ladybugs are not considered to be bugs but are in fact beetles! And no two ladybugs look alike.

How to Make a Paper Plate Ladybug

1. For this craft, you’ll need two paper plates, a pipe cleaner, googly eyes, perforated circles from the ladybug envelope, a pair of scissors, and a pencil!

2. Carefully cut the red paper plate in half. TIP: use a ruler or lightly draw a line down the middle of the plate first.

3. Let’s create the antennas!  Cut the pipe cleaner in half and twist each piece around a pencil. Slide the coil off the pencil and repeat with the second pipe cleaner. Glue the antennas to the top of Ladybug’s head.

4. Take the larger black circle and glue a portion of the circle. Slide it underneath the body from the top. Glue googly eyes on the head.

3. Flip the black paper plate upside down. Take your red halves and glue them on the sides of the black plate. Have the red corners touch each other on the top, it almost looks like red curtains drawn on a stage. Glue the small dots on the red shell. Remember not every ladybug looks the same! Have fun with your polka-dot pattern!
